West Suburban Symphony presents:

 Sunday, Oct. 15 @ 3:30 pm

THE PASSIONS AND TOILS OF EVERYDAY LIFE are captured in this music from three centuries: Carmen Suites 1 and 2 from Georges Bizet’s 1875 opera about the legendary gypsy temptress; Samuel Barber’s lyrical 1936 Symphony 1 in One Movement; and Michael Daugherty’s intense 2003 Fire and Blood violin concerto in three movements - Volcano, River Rouge, and Assembly Line. Victoria Moreira joins us as soloist for Fire and Blood, which was inspired by Diego Rivera's Detroit industry murals (pictured here).  Listen here to selections from Carmen, the symphony, and Fire and Blood.
