"With These Hands" Scholarship Concert

The Western Springs Music Club, under the innovative music direction of Steven Sigurdson, presented With These Hands, a special fundraising concert with hopes of encouraging and enabling Middle School Instrumentalists to enjoy their first summer camp experience through a scholarship competition. We had great support at this  program on Sunday, January 15th at 2:00 pm. The concert was held at First Congregational Church, 1106 Chestnut Street in Western Springs.

There was a free-will offering to support this worthy project. Community contributions helped with our mission of encouraging  aspiring young musicians to reap the life-changing benefits that only a summer music camp experience can provide, including the joy of meeting and collaborating with other enthusiastic students, and giving them the motivation to strive for excellence in their musical performance and in their lives.

We entitled the concert With These Hands because it is within the hands of our youth that the future of music lies. Let's all continue to make a difference by supporting our young musicians! Please take a look at the fabulous post-concert article, courtesy of Nancy Hirsch.
